Today was a day of three parts.
Part 1 – A lovely walk through fields, sunflowers, quaint small villages and hay bales.
Part 2 – Boring walk in hot conditions along a major highway. The only highlight of part 2 was seeing a truck blow a tyre at full speed – sometimes you need to find entertainment in the strangest of places. No one was injured.
Part 3 – Lovely afternoon in cool, breezy conditions at our hostel/albergue. We had a few drinks, chatted to a few pilgrims, and did the washing. We are constantly amazed by how multilingual Europeans are compared to the British and Australians. Even Americans are better than us as many speak basic Spanish.
Debra’s blister is holding up well and the new shoes performed perfectly. Mark’s tendonitis was way less troublesome today, although he does have a few small niggling blisters.
Tomorrow is a 31 kilometre walk to Atapuerca.
