Thoughts:
Debra – Easy, comfortable walk
Mark – Easy day – taxi travel is great
Only three of our pilgrims walked today, Mark and Cindy succumbed to their foot problems and caught a taxi the 20 kilometres to Hornillas del Camino. It cost €33 for the ride. They enjoyed a relaxing afternoon drinking beer and chatting to other pilgrims. Other pilgrims who are staying in albergues confirmed the oft held concern that there is a daily race amongst pilgrims for beds in albergues. We are so pleased that we prebooked our hotels ahead. Some pilgrims are not enjoying their Camino experience because of this.
Debra, Geoff and Julia had the pleasure of walking. It was a very pleasant, comfortable walk out of Burgos. The highlight of the day was the beginning of the Meseta – this means the end for a while of steep hills and steep declines. We all enjoyed the more comfortable and flat walking surface. Our feet loved it too.
We stayed at La Casa Del Abuelo Hornillas which was good value for about €20/person, however both internet and mobile phone coverage were virtually non existent.

It looks lovely, sorry about your sore feet.
Feeling sorry for Mark and Cindy. Cheap cab ride, though. And you get to relax and check out the town. Keep healing …
