Thoughts:
Debra – When will the straight paths end?
Mark – Ditto!

Today we walked entirely along a path next to a road. At times it seemed like we were the only survivors of an apocalypse as we saw almost no locals and very few pilgrims. One of the only signs of life was a ferret chasing a rabbit. Mansilla itself was a pleasant enough town. Julia, Geoff and Cindy visited the local museum while Mark and I wandered around the town. We stayed at La Casa de Los  Soportales which was good value at €50 per night. A three course pilgrim meal cost €11.

We have got into a pattern now of having one bag a day transported by Jacotrans for €5. It works remarkably well thus far – after phoning the night before. You leave your backpack in some designated corner of a lobby or bar and it “magically” appears in some random corner of your next accommodation. We all continue to love Spain.
Today was Australian Mother’s Day which was celebrated by Mark and Geoff by picking wildflowers along the way and lining up to order all meals and drinks.
