Day 25 – Rest day Leon

Day 25 – Rest day Leon

Date: 16th May 2017

Today we had a delightful much needed rest day in Leon. Yet another Spanish city that is impossible not to fall in love with. It was pretty much a maintenance day with laundry, shopping and foot care the order of the day. There was also plenty of time to explore our amazing hotel with the attached 12 century church. The church also doubled as a concentration camp during the Spanish Civil War.

We also mailed some of our gear forward to Santiago as we were trying to lighten our backpacks. Just over 1.5 kgs cost only €10 to send. Spanish post is so cheap and the staff are so helpful.

It is almost impossible not to fall in love with Spain. The Spanish people appear aloof at first but are amazingly friendly. From our observations, Spain seems to be devoid of road rage and impatience of any type.

Tomorrow sees us back on the path again. The routine is becoming familiar and comforting.

  1. I’m impressed with the Leon in Flowers photo. I can see that they change the date each day and then the month. What a lovely idea.
You are doing a great blog.

  2. Loving the blog Debra, and so enjoying all your lovely pictures, scenery and the food. Enjoy your adventure, and I hope the blisters are being kept to a minimum.
