Despite our reservations based on last year’s walk, today was a very pleasant experience. The walking temperature was ideal, the weather was perfect and the road (albeit bitumen) coursed through green valleys and picturesque small villages. We are staying in yet another picturesque village – Las Herrerías. The highlights of the afternoon were watching a farmer herd his cows and seeing off some of our pilgrim friends who embarked on the next section of the Camino on horseback.
If people are wondering why our posts to this blog can be quite intermittent, it is purely a function of how good each day’s hotel wifi is. We are writing this from the restaurant of our Hostal, as this is the only place where the wifi works properly.
Tomorrow we walk up a steep incline to O’Cebrerio, where we reach the highest point of the Camino. Bodies and feet still holding up well.
