Today was our final 20 kilometre leg into Santiago. The weather forecast was for rain later in the morning, so we started the day very early in the dark. With the overcast skies, tree canopies and shortening Spanish days, it was almost 2 hours until we had good light. Given our desire to beat the rain, and our keenness to get to Santiago, we set a brisk pace and completed the 20 kilometres in about 4 hours.
It was a wonderful feeling making it into Santiago, and hence completing the Camino Frances. It took us exactly six weeks of walking. We managed to catch up with a number of our pilgrim friends, both just walking around and over dinner. We had to queue for 2 hours to get our Compostela but the time passed quickly.
We have reflected on what a wonderful experience the Camino has again been, especially as we have recalled all the friendships we have made. We would like to thank

We have a rest day tomorrow but the journey is not over as we walk into Finisterre and Muxía for the following 6 days. We are happy that we have two of our fellow pilgrims, Chris and Deb, to accompany us on this next leg.
