Day 6 – Pamplona to Puente La Reina

Departure Time: 06:35 am
Arrival Time: 2:35 pm
Distance: 24.5 kms
Cumulative Distance: 92.8 kms
Percentage Completed: 10.04%

Weather: Beautiful day, clear skies 24 degrees
Today was a very pleasant 25 kilometre walk. We spent much of the morning climbing along rocky paths to Alto del Perdon which features beautiful views of Pamplona and the iconic metal pilgrim profiles. While at the summit, Mark was interviewed for an upcoming British documentary series on the Camino. We descended from Alto del Perdon down a steep rocky path and from there on had a rather pleasant walk to Puente La Reina. This delightful town features an historical Roman bridge which most likely has its own Wikipedia entry. We are staying at Hotel Rural Bidean which is in the historic Calle Mayor.
One noticeable feature of the day, compared to last year, it is no longer wheat season but grape and berry time.
We are sitting here writing this being tortured by church bells – they have gone crazy at 6:45 pm. They are not stopping. It seems Quasimodo has gone “rogue”.
Pilgrim feet are holding up well. A few aches and pains but nothing we can’t handle with “Camino candy” – Nurofen 600 mgs.

Great job guys. You are doing fantastic. I love reading the blog and seeing all the beautiful photos.
Great going, guys. Hope you did your hair for the interview, Mark!! Keep those church bells ringing – remember, one day you may say that you wish you could still hear them!! Buen Camino!!?⛪️
We may miss the church bells but only before 10 pm at night after that it keeps you awake.
