The Madrid Days
Date: 28-31 August 2018
Accommodation: Hotel Francisco l
Weather: 31-33 degrees
We have just spent two relaxing days in Madrid after arriving on Tuesday afternoon. From what little we have seen, Madrid seems to be a very laid back and friendly city. We didn’t do a great amount of things here apart from imbibing in delightful Spanish wine and enjoying the tapas, which constitutes extremely vital training for the Camino ahead. However, when we were not in rigorous training, we managed to see a few sights – Buen Retiro Park, Prado museum, Palacio Real and many Plazas. So, so easy to enter major attractions here compared to somewhere like the USA.
It is Friday morning when we write this and we are soon to catch a train to Pamplona where we have booked a taxi to take us to St. Jean Pied de Port. All going to plan – so far!
